One of the many things Ive been meaning to do for quite sometime is to build a new computer system. There are quite a few reasons why I want a new computer system. The first one is my current computer is a dell and it sucks, not that its slow or anything, but it is dated and under powered for what my current needs are. Which brings me to my next point. Upgradability !!!! and purpose. Apart from the obvious gaming requirements I want a computer system with some serious speed and one that is easily upgradable. So a build it yourself is the way Im going to go. Nothing like a DYI computer project. Geeks like me love this sort of thing. So why would I want to build one myself rather than just go to future shop and buy one off of the shelf.
Number one it isnt really all that difficult to do and number two getting exactly what I want, the way I want it.
One of the major reasons I want to do my own build is the way I use computers.
I love to do graphics editing using adobe photoshop, and that requires processing power. Large documents open and the graphics intensive nature and resource hogging of Adobe kind of forced me in this direction. As well we have tons of photos and home videos and I mean tons, in the gigs area of photo and video storage. So storage is a major issue for me. Either by burning the media to dvds and cds and storing them or storing them on either a separate internal drive or on an external drive.
That I like doing web design, which requires that I have many things open on my desktop at the same time, like adobe photo shop, microsoft front page, a php editor, Xampp, a webs browser to test and debug design, plus a media player to listen to music or watch tutorials while Im building blogs and websites. All of which are resource hogs and processor intensive, multi taking is the way to go for me.
Another thing a nd reason I want to do a DYI computer system is I want a media center that I can connect to my hdtv. You know wtach my dvds and other burned media through mycomputer system, listen to music So an all in one system kinda thing.
So what I need is massive storage, internal and external (back up)
Massive processing speed
Multitasking requirements.
HDMI out put from a video card
Video input (future HD cam coming)
And I’d like to do video editing (future)
Plus gaming.
So in short what Im looking at is a monster of a computer system.
