SO I seeking some advice about how to get rid of ants. So far I have googled how to get rid of ants and have found some good advice about how to get rid of ants. So I’ll lay out here what I have done to get rid of ants.
Below you’ll find some ideas and tips for getting rid of ants, but you really wanna scroll to the bottom and read the last one, this tip for how to get rid of ants will blow your socks off

Tips for getting rid of Ants

There’s a spray called Orange Guard that’s non-toxic and can be used around kids, pets, food, etc. It smells nice too, so it’s not gross like the pesticides. It’s been pretty effective at getting the ants to disappear for a short while, but in our area, they always come back. I’ve tried the ant traps, boric acide, the whole deal. Now I just use the spray since they eventually come back anyway.
Get some borate. It’s a white power and is safe for people and pets. It is naturally-occurring mineral and not a chemical poison, so it takes about a week to work. Just sprinkle some where you see the ants and they will track it back to the nest where they will all share it a slowly die. At first you will think it is not working but after a week or two you will suddenly realize the ants are gone… and it’s safe for your cat too.Borate is available from a number of online sources and some home and garden centers might have it too. It’s a relative of 20-mule-team borax.
Molasses Paste This molasses paste is harmless to humans and pets, but it will give pesky ants a case of indigestion that will send them to the great anthill up above. To make molasses paste you’ll need 1/3 cup of molasses, six tablespoons of active dry yeast, and six tablespoons of granulated sugar. Stir the ingredients until they are smooth and well blended, and place soda bottle caps filled with this mixture in areas where ants frequent.
Ant Powder If you can locate the entry point where ants are getting into your home, you can get rid of them by sprinkling cream of tartar, powdered chalk, talcum powder, cinnamon, powdered cleanser, or chili powder in and around the area. The ants won’t enter areas covered in these or similar substances.
Jelly and Borax

This is one of the most effective remedies for getting rid of ants in the home, but this combination should be kept away from children and pets. Mix equal parts of jelly and borax, and place it in areas accessible to invading ants. The ants will be attracted to the sweet jelly, and the borax mixed with the jelly will kill them.

Liquid Dish Soap and Glass Cleaner

Equal parts of liquid dish soap and glass cleaner is a fantastic home remedy that effectively gets rid of ants. Although this is a good homemade solution to get rid of ants, it shouldn’t be sprayed on surfaces that could be damaged by ammonia and soap, or areas where people could slip and fall.

Vinegar
If you don’t mind the temporary odor of vinegar in or around your home, pour a little apple cider vinegar or white vinegar in a spray bottle, and spray the ants you see as well as the areas they frequent. The vinegar will kill the ants directly sprayed, and it will act as a repellent to deter other ants from entering your home.

Cucumber Peels

If ants are invading your home, create a natural ant repellent with cucumber peels. Ants absolutely hate cucumbers, and if you put cucumber peelings in areas where ants are coming in, they won’t want to hang around. Whenever you peel a cucumber, place the peelings around the exterior of your home, and along with the other home remedies listed above, you’ll successfully get rid of ants in and around your hom.

Outdoor Ant Control
Supplies: 1 to 2 gallons water
Stove or barbecue grill
Instructions: Heat water to 160 to 170 degrees. Quietly sneak up to the mounds of ants and pour the boiling water down the hole.
Note: I normally try to do this between 11am and 2 pm.

Indoor Ant Control
Supplies: 1 tbsp. boric acid
1 tbsp. mint jelly or peanut butter
1 cracker
Small cardboard box
Instructions: Mix the boric acid and mint jelly; spread mixture on a cracker. Punch pinholes in a cardboard box; place cracker inside. Place box in an area where ants cause problems, but away from children and pets.
Note: The mint jelly or peanut butter lures the ants in and the boric acid kills them.

Indoor and Outdoor Ant Control
Supplies: Diatomaceous earth
Instructions: Dust food-grade diatomaceous earth along the ant’s pathways.
Note: The white powder will cut through their exoskeleton and they will dehydrate and die.

You’ll love this one !!!! I should do a video post about this!!!!

Indoor and Outdoor Ant Control Supplies:
1 1/2 cup Cream of Wheat
Instructions: Place a dish of Cream of Wheat where the ants can access it.
Note: After they eat it, the cereal expands and the ants will explode.

My grandmother’s old fashioned method of getting rid of ants: mix equal parts of sugar and Boraxo in powder form and sprinkle where ants pass by. The Boraxo can be found in most grocery stores in the laundry detergent aisle. The sugar attracts them and the boric in Boraxo kills them but usually after they’ve taken some back to the next to share with other ants. Easy and inexpensive method.
